Elliott & Family:  Cotton-Top Tamarin Monkeys

Cotton-top tamarins.  This is a little girls dream come true.  The cotton-top tamarin is on the endangered species list.  They are very territorial, and true to their owner.  My monkeys love to hang out and watch out the windows to view birds, cats, raccoons, and other critters that pass through my yard.  They are up at sunrise and go to bed at sunset.  They make sounds like birds, high pitched.  Bananas and Mangoes are a favorite as well as a marshmallow from time to time.  Recently born are twin boys ( 4-27-03 ) which run circles around me and their play area. Dad babysits pretty much all day and mom takes care and feeds as necessary. They are very family oriented.  They are loving and sweet.  They love to play hide and seek with me, and if I hide food they are so CURIOUS that they will dig in your pockets, or box to find the hidden treasure.

I’m not sure what more to write as I could go on forever talking about my little monks;  they are the love of my life and the glue that holds me together.  An important thing to mention is that caring for a monkey is not short term or for show. It is a lifetime bond -   only responsible, nurturing individuals should even consider owning a primate.  They rely on us to love, feed, nurture, care and give them a loving home until God decides to take them back.
