Vaccinations against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza,
Leptospirosis and Parvovirus (DHLP-P)

DHLP-P Vaccine protects your dog from the major airborne Upper Respiratory &
GastroIntestinal Viruses.  Some of these diseases can be spread by wild animals such as
skunks, foxes & raccoons, as well as unvaccinated dogs.

The schedule guideline for puppy vaccinations is as follows:

Rabies Vaccination

In Florida, current rabies vaccination is required by law

for ALL Dogs, Cats & Ferrets over 4 months of age....

In Florida, County Licensing is required for ALL dogs.

The Brevard County License fee for a spayed/neutered dog is $9.00  and $15 for non-spayed/neutered adult dogs (it is also $9.00 for Puppies and kittens under one year of age ).  At the time of vaccination, a certificate & envelope will be provided for you to mail in or apply in person for your county license.

Bordatella Vaccination aka “Kennel Cough”

This vaccine is required by kennels for boarding, and is strongly recommended for dogs
who are in obedience classes or grooming on a regular basis.  Kennel Cough is an
airborne virus and is usually transmitted in crowded situations.  The vaccine is given
intra-nasally, and is good for one year.

Lyme Disease Vaccination

The Lyme disease vaccination is not required in Florida, but we highly recommend it for
pets that are moving or visiting Northern areas of the country.  Lyme Disease is
transmitted by a certain species of tick, found North of Florida.

Heartworm Check

Your dog’s blood should be tested annually for heartworms, and all dogs should be on a heartworm preventative program. In Florida we suggest year-round prevention; discuss
what prevention options are available with our staff.  Heartworm is transmitted bymosquitoes and has been reported in all areas of the United States.

Spaying or Neutering

At 6 months to 1 year of age as recommended by your Veterinarian.
